Promise Projects
Atghara, Kolkata, India -- This was Promise's first project, and it grew to a community of 70 children from humble beginnings in 2003. Due to unavoidable circumstances, this project is on hold temporarily. We hope to resume it in the near future.
Nawabpur, Kolkata, India -- Here we provide nutrition and education to children living in an extremely poor rural area on the outskirts of Kolkata. Currently we have about 200 children, mostly very young, and we need your help in providing them with food and clothing.
Self Sustaining Project for Women -- This is our second project in Nawabpur where presently 60 women are involved in making a specific product - a hand-knitted dishcloth. This project has been started based on the approach of an American company to involve women of a developing country like India in its products.
